The Northern Virginia Carvers

The Northern Virginia Carvers is a not-for-profit association was begun in 1973 and is presently one of the largest and most active woodcarving groups in the Country. The principal function of NVC is to preserve, enhance, and perpetuate the American tradition of artistry and craftsmanship in wood.

To this end, the Northern Virginia Carvers undertakes a broad spectrum of educational activities in the community in addition to the year round operation on selected nights at our Woodcarving Center at the Woodcraft store in Springfield.

NVC instructors have taught free woodcarving classes at Colvin Run Mill Park on the first and third Sundays of June, July, and August Throughout the year NVC members demonstrate woodcarving at numerous schools, scout groups, and civic events.
