Capital Area Woodturners Capital Area Woodturners is an organization of 150 hobbyists and professionals dedicated to improving members knowledge, skill, and appreciation of woodturning techniques, wood finishing, functional and esthetic design, and safe practices. A chapter of the American Association of Woodturners, CAW provides information on educational, exhibit, and sales opportunities in the United States and facilitates networking, friendship, and cooperation among woodturners in the national capital area. Member’s interests cover the entire spectrum of woodturning including faceplate turning, spindle turning, hollowing, miniature turning, and personal and environmental safety. Meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month. They concentrate on the how-to's of the art, with demonstrations by turners of national reputation.
