High Country Basketry Guild

The High Country Basketry Guild was established in 1985 for people Who are interested in baskets, whether making or collecting them Its purpose is to preserve standards of excellence in design and workmanship, promote public awareness of the craft and art, and to give guidance to beginners and artisans.

The Guild has from 100 to 125 members whose experience ranges from beginner to established craftsperson. There are monthly meetings and/or workshops, classes taught by nationally-known weavers, and six newsletters per year.

Individual guild members offer demonstrations and set up displays for organizations and associations in the area. Meetings are held at Artisans United on the third Sunday of the month at 100 p.m
