Artisans' purposes are:

• To provide a creative forum where craftspeople may exchange ideas, experiences and materials
• To offer instruction in the arts and crafts and provide public service programs for groups or institutions
• To support worthy community arts and crafts programs through material and financial contributions
• To provide opportunities for individual member organizations to demonstrate their arts and crafts and sell their products to the public
• To serve as a community resource; and to maintain a center of operations

In order to fulfill these purposes, Artisans United is involved in the following activities.

• Craft demonstrations and exhibits in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, libraries, and other community organizations
• Special exhibits, demonstrations and sales of quality craft items at The Craft Gallery of Artisans United at the Fred M. Packard Center in Annandale Community Park
• Continuing information on classes, workshops, and shows for adults and children relating to arts and crafts and artistic development
