Community Activities

As part of Artisans United mission:

  • To offer instruction in the arts and crafts and provide public service programs for groups or institutions
  • To provide opportunities for individual member organizations to demonstrate their arts and crafts and sell their products to the public
  • To serve as a community resource; and to maintain a center of operations

Artisans United hosts and is involved in a number of Community Activities. There is the Annual Gathering of the Guilds in which member guilds are invited to come and demonstrate their crafts to the public.

PROJECTS FOR EVERYONE

An ongoing initative that we all feel is very important, is to help caregivers, parents, teachers and scout leaders come up with suitable craft-related projects to interest young and old minds in the arts. We've been gathering "projects" that are inexpensive to make, yet interesting enough to engage all and plan to make them available online.

Project 1: Paper Beads (submitted by Myra Nicholas)
Great for young and old, you can use junk mail, wrapping paper, or nice handmade paper depending on the audience. Click to download PDF file
