Artist Statement

Ever since I was a child, growing up in rural France, I was interested in creating artistic objects from items at hand, materials that lay around the house or in nature just outside.  Paper was king among those:  More versatile than clay or wood, you could layer it, emboss it, paint it, wet it and shape it into magical forms, with results that were always surprising.  As I returned to paper arts in adulthood, I had  new inspirations, gained through my travels in North Africa and India.  The richness and vibrancy of colors, textures and shapes in those lands deeply influences my imaginative creations.  With them I strive to enliven and enrich décor, whether as jewelry or for the home.
