Jerry Butkus is a passionate knitting artist, and also handcrafts note cards with dried leaves, which she first created in 1994 and named “Natural Notes”.  Other note cards by Jerry Butkus show embossed lettering or holiday themed felted arrangements.  Jerry has been a member of Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild for many years and joined The Craft Gallery of Artians United, Inc. as an independent member in 2001.

Artist Statement

I have been knitting since 1938 and currently show functional items such as knit scarves and baby blankets at Artisans United Craft Gallery.  Since 1996, I have been showing items at Elder Crafters in Alexandria, Virginia and participated in the St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church craft fair in 2002, 2003, and 2004.  My bestselling knit piece is a polar bear that is always available during the winter holiday season.
