Artist Statement
Joining Artisans United Craft Gallery is the second time I am pursuing my crafting skills within a larger organization of crafts people. I also have my creations on display and for sale at Elder Crafters shop in Alexandria. Inspired and taught by my mother, who was an excellent seamstress, I started sewing when I was a child, at first making clothes for my doll. As I grew up, I went on to bigger sewing projects, including clothes for myself and a quilt that I made in collaboration with my mother. I enjoy making aprons for adults as well as for children and can sew many more things than pictured here. For example, I make nice bib and burp pad sets which are great presents for babies, baby headbands, and ballet skirts for little girls. I like to embroider, and quite often put hand embroidery on my baby bibs, for example.
