Artist Biogragraphy

Suheyla Biron is a juried member of The Craft Gallery of Artisans United and a member of the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild (NVHG). She has been working with silver and gemstones since 2000. Born in Istanbul, Turkey Suheyla holds a degree in teaching. She was employed by the government for many years and is currently helping run the family business “We Design Build”. She exhibits her own designed jewelry at The Craft Gallery of Artisans United in Annandale, VA and at a variety of other local craft shows and events.

Artist Statement

I learned my crafting techniques at several jewelry classes in Virginia and have been influenced by Laura Beaty, a friend and a very talented jewelry teacher. First I started making jewelry as gifts for family members and friends. My passion is creating with silver and natural gems. Working with natural beads calms me down and relaxes me. I am inspired by the colors and the shapes of the natural gemstones.
