Bonnie Anderson
(BMA) – Mosaics, Stained Glass, Quilts, Baskets, Ceramics
Artist Biography
Bonnie worked in the field of education for many years -- first as an elementary school teacher and later as a computer instructor in the classroom. She received a M.Ed. from George Mason University in 1985 and worked at the university in teacher licensing and program development and compliance. She has always had an interest in many different craft media but did not have time to pursue them until retirement. She then joined the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild (NVHG), Quilters Unlimited (QU), the Artisans United Gallery, and began participating in several craft shows each year. She and her husband have two grown children and one grandson. They are also avid world travelers.
Artist Statement
My growing involvement with the crafting community has given me the opportunity to work with a variety of media. Besides pottery and quilting, I enjoy making baskets, working with stained glass, and making mosaics from broken china on lazy susans, picture frames, trivets, etc. I really can’t decide which craft I enjoy the most!
